How to be a better salesperson in 2012

Here are a three simple, yet effective ideas that will help you sell better in 2012.

As the online world continues to grow, change and adapt, culture and the way we communicate with the world around us is also changing. People are through with cold call selling, or being pushed around by businesses with the attitude, “we’re right and you’re wrong.” We’re not buying anymore. If you want to sell your product, or idea make sure the context is right first. Here’s what you can do;

1. Be Yourself

2. Make a difference

3. Solve a problem

Businesses who are just out for themselves, have a limited shelf life. Consumers can tell a sales speech in one sentence, and that’s all it takes for them to turn and run in the opposite direction. So be yourself, and drop the act. If you don’t believe in your product, quite selling it.

Make a difference in someone’s life, by offering up a service people can use, or a product that really serves it’s purpose.

Solve a problem, perhaps should read solve the consumers problem. Be of assistance. Especially if your managing a social media account. If a consumer asks a question and you don’t know the answer, go find out from someone who does. Lend a helping hand, and give the consumer a reason to keep coming back.
